This is split into three sections, fundraising, war work parties and the work of the VAD or Voluntary Aid Detachment.
The Red Cross played an important part behind the scenes of WW1. They set up work parties to supply clothes to soldiers and sailors fighting, ambulance drivers, nurses, hospitals, work depots, rest stations, air raid duty to name a few. Villages all over the country were called to do their duty, and Wing was no exception.
